GIVEback

'GIVEback’ is an ongoing initiative where GIVEcandle hand selects and highlights community entities that are owned by, proudly serve and/or have empowered people of color. Each recipient will have a designated scented candle with 20% of the proceeds from each batch being donated to their organization.

updateThank you for helping us reach our goal in giving back to 100 Quincy Community Garden!

GIVEcandle is excited to announce our very first GIVEback recipient: 100 Quincy Community Garden

100 Quincy Community Garden provides a green space in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn for those who may not have access to their own. It acts as a local gardening resource, a place for information, and often provides seedlings and cuttings for neighbors to plant & grow herbs, plants & vegetables in their own home or elsewhere. In addition, neighbors and visitors are encouraged to use the compost bins and sift their own compost (during events or upon request).

Since it's inception, 100 Quincy Community Garden has served as a learning center for preschool teachers to bring their classes for gardening or to study the live chickens on the garden site. 😊

Although the garden offers gardener or general memberships, the space is limited. However, they do share what grows in the garden in communal spaces with both members and neighborhood supporters, alike.

Help us support the continued growth of 100 Quincy Community Garden by purchasing the sage + lavendar scented candle. Sage is currently being grown in the garden!
